The Supporting Inclusion through Intergenerational Partnerships (SIIP) project is inviting community stakeholders in Waterloo Region to submit proposals for initiatives that facilitate older adults’ participation in virtual programs. SIIP is looking to award $90,000 to an initiative that will:
- Support the social inclusion of older adults by increasing access to technology (devices or infrastructure); or
- Increase the knowledge and skills of older adults and youth to use technology to participate in SIIP funded projects.
The goal of the SIIP program is to promote social inclusion for older adults living with dementia and their
care partners while creating learning opportunities for secondary and post-secondary aged youth. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, programming will be delivered virtually and this funding will address barriers to participation.
Organizations and community groups with new ideas or existing for initiatives to grow are encouraged to apply. Additional details and application information can be found here.
Applications will be accepted from February 19 to March 19, 2021. If you have questions about this funding please contact, SIIP Project Manager, Neb Zachariah at neb.zachariah@uwaterloo.ca.
SIIP is funded by the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program.
