The Virtual Village enables intergenerational learning and social connection through virtual community. This program is offered by Fairview Mennonite Homes and Parkwood Mennonite Home in partnership with Wilfrid Laurier University Community & Workplace Partnerships. Students and older adults plan, facilitate and participate in discussion and social activities together using technology as needed. Student facilitators from Wilfrid Laurier University were hired for on-site placements to develop relationships with the older adults, provide student perspective and be a bridge between the two communities.
